About Us

Astwood Bank Pre-school and Nursery stands out from the crowd because we have been part of the village community for over 30 years and promote ‘learning through play’ at all times. When visiting our nursery you will witness the energy and excitement of the children in our care and notice them engaged and focussed on their play.

We provide high quality care and education from the age of two right up to joining their first reception class.

We are lucky to have use of the Forest School garden at Astwood Bank First School for two days every week.  The children love the outdoor space and are able to enjoy activities there on a regular basis.  This also enables those children who will move on to the school to become familiar with the school’s surroundings.

Our staff provide high quality care and teaching in safe, secure and stimulating environments and take pride in guiding the children to become well-rounded individuals who grow in independence and confidence throughout their early years and beyond.

We operate a ‘key carer’ system which allows staff to form special bonds with the children, fostering a positive and happy atmosphere at all times.

In order to offer on-going continuity of care, we are continually reflecting on our practice, improving and developing it as appropriate.
